Convert your breaker points to E-Spark Breakerless from ACCEL Motorcycle Products and Mallory Ignition using ACCEL #554 E-Spark Breakerless Conversion Kit. This will give you higher performance longer life due to having no moving parts that could get worn out over time. The points are replaced by an E-Spark Module that contains a photo coupler, signal processor and a power switch. When the shutter wheel stops the infrared light from reaching the photo coupler, the ignition coils is energized by the electronic circuitry.
Converting to an E-Spark Breakerless ignition is easy with a 3-wire connection, so you can get back on your bike in no time. We recommend using a coil with 2.0-3.0 ohms resistance, such as ACCEL #140407 Super Coils for racing. For street and highway, we recommend a coil with 3.0-4.0 ohms restsitance, such as ACCEL #140405 Super Coils.
